Pride... Visiting Bob's Office

On the evening of the funeral, we thought it would be nice for Mom, Dad and the family to visit Bob's office since the family was all together. For many of us it was the first time to visit Bob's work area. I can't imagine how proud Bob was of his profession and the men that he worked with. I only wish we had the opportunity to do this while he was alive.

In the photos you will see a few of the vehicles that Bob acquired for the guys during his time there including the Lenco Bear (Ballistic Engineered Armored Response vehicle) and the Tahoes. He truly cared about every last officer in HRT, K-9 and Mobile Reserve. He was always working to make them the best that they could be and pushing for frequent training and the best equipment. We hope and pray that his team will carry on his spirit in training, work ethic and kindness as time goes on.

Saying Goodbye...

This will be the hardest of all posts to this site but it needs to be done. On the day of Bob's Funeral there was a horrible snow and ice storm. Many relatives and friends could not attend due to the driving conditions. We are sharing photos, eulogies, media and the slideshow that played at the funeral home for those who could not make it as well as for those who once again want to see the amazing outpouring of love and respect for Bob.

Photos by Chuck Hart, Tom Gatermann, Doug Etherton
and Linda Grantham

Above is the slideshow that played in the
lobby of the funeral home. Please send
your photos of Bob so I can add them here.

Above is raw unedited video provided by KSDK

Above are the eulogies by Capt. Swiderski
and Bob's brothers Michael, D.C. and Darryl.

Above is the program from the funeral service.
As soon as we found this picture, we knew this was the right one. We felt it represented Bob as he is in heaven, as if he is saying "Don't worry about me..."

Media

The following is a selection of media about the loss of Bob. This is tough to do but understand that there were and still are friends and relatives of Bob spread out all over the world, from the U.S. to Iraq, who could not be here. Some are still struggling to understand what happened, many have never seen the great words by Captain Swiderski on the news, or even the memorial service...

This section will be updated as more media is collected;

New site now online.... Please sign the guestbook!

After hours of designing and re-designing just the right website to honor Bob, I have scrapped all ideas I have had and decided to use a Blog.

What is a Blog? The word Blog is short for "Web Log" and is basically an electronic diary. The great thing about a blog is the ease of posting text, pictures, video and other media files as well allowing for a simple interface for viewers to post their comments.
